United Veterans Beacon House
Blackout in Mitchell, SD
This picture was taken from the front, North window of the United Veterans Beacon House, Promise, SD. Overnight with the wind chill it was down to -35 degrees. That is probably the reason the VA are going to use why they are not out here helping us at a Working Bee, it must be either TOOOOOOOOOOOO Cold or TOOOOOOOOOOOOO Hot; it must be that it is never just right to come out as they have stated to help us. They have a great predictability to criticize and shit can. I suppose if that is all you are capable of then remember what Dirty Harry had to say "You have to know your limitations"
It has been a joy driving here with a truck and trailer load of food for the United Veterans Beacon House and if you do not have at least 3 layers of clothes - hat and face covered - it will cold burn you. Just as well we completed, on the last Working Bee, the second Chicken Coop and Cow Barn. They are at least safe and secure.

Blackout in Mitchell, South Dakota
There is a great feeling of being a part of a program that assists a portion of the over 300,000 U.S. Homeless Veterans who have no permanent residence and need a Hand Up and not a hand out.
We guarantee that you will feel a sense of accomplishment and ownership of the projects that will last a lifetime...
